| What can I expect when visiting Southbridge? |
| When visiting Southbridge you can expect to feel welcomed, accepted, and inspired. We have all kinds of people from all different kinds of religious backgrounds and upbringings who have decided to make SCC their church home. Southbridge is a “come as you are” casual church that is open to anyone desiring to know God more. You can come expecting our full-band worship team to lead you in passionate, uplifting worship and singing. You can also expect preaching that is heart-felt and relevant that will challenge and encourage you. We invite you to come as you are, leave different than you came, and expect God’s best. Southbridge has a one hour and fifteen minute service that starts at 10 AM. Infants and toddlers can be checked into the Nursery as soon as you walk in and elementary aged children are dismissed to Kid’s Zone after the singing portion of the service. You can then pick up your children at the conclusion of the service. |
| What does Southbridge have for my family? |
Nursery Care: We offer childcare during our Sunday morning service for children from one month to pre-kindergarten. It’s our desire to minister to each child’s spiritual, physical, social and emotional needs. We teach children Bible truths in an age-appropriate manner, while providing a safe, nurturing, and fun environment for young children; enabling parents to participate in worship and spiritual growth. We offer a wide variety of activities, Bible lessons, songs, and crafts each week. Snacks are provided. Kid’s Zone: Children in grades K-5 will meet with God and each other in a service just for them. Mrs. Emily will lead kids by providing an energetic atmosphere, presenting the message each Sunday in fun and creative ways through an interactive curriculum designed just for kids. Kid’s church is dedicated to come alongside parents by laying down a biblical foundation; leading children to a relationship with God to become followers of Jesus Christ for the rest of their lives. SCC Youth: For all 6-12 graders, we have a growing group of students who are passionate in their pursuit of the 3 Vital Relationships. Currently, we invite Jr. High and Sr. High students to join us each week on Wednesday nights for a time of spiritual growth as we focus on our relationship with God and each other. Another outlet we provide for relational growth and group activity is our Life Groups. These groups meet every first and third weekend of the month. For more information on these and other calendar events, visit the SCC Student Ministries web link. |

| What is the Leadership Structure at SCC? |
At Southbridge Community Church our leadership structure consists of two entities: Pastors, also described as Elders, at Southbridge Community Church are presently all credentialed ministers who have been called by God to serve as the pastoral staff of SCC. The pastors/elders oversee and care for the spiritual needs of the flock (Acts 20:28; Titus 1:5). Their responsibilities are to proclaim sound doctrine, refute heresy (Titus 1:6-9), teach God's Word, exercise leadership in the local church (I Thessalonians 5:12-13, I Timothy 3:1-7), and be an example of purity and sound doctrine. They function as shepherds of which Jesus is the model (John 10:11-16; I Peter 5:1-4). The Pastoral Advisory Team (PAT) functions as deacons of Southbridge Community Church; following the pattern of servanthood set by Jesus' life and example (Matthew 20:26-28). In Acts 6:1-6, we find the Early Church appointing 7 men that were full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom to serve as deacons alongside the pastors/elders in administrating the temporal and material affairs of the church. This was done so that the pastors/elders might prioritize prayer and minisry of the Word (Acts 6:2). The qualifications for deacons are described in I Timothy 3:8-13. |
